Eco-X Series 2010

Eco-X Series 2010 was held on 4th July 2010 at Batu Dam, Batu Caves and Selangor State Park. This event was organize by Nomad Adventure Sdn Bhd in cooperation with Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.

MMU Watersports Club manage to sent 1 Team consist of 4 student consist of 3 Mens and 1 Woman. They call their team as "X-CJ". They are:

1. Mohammad Hilmy Hasan (Emy Captain)

2. Khairul Zaim Ismail (Zaim)

3. Ahmad Estaffan Ammir (Efan)

4. Nur Shahidayu Shariff (Ayu)

Eco-X challenge is an extreme sports for university level. They are 18 teams registered to join this competition. They are 5 discipline that all the team need to go through which are:

1. River crossing - 4km

2. Kayaking at Empangan Batu - 1.5km

3. Road Running - 3.5km

4. Caving & Junggle trekking - 3km

5. Rock Climbing (2 members of the team only needed)

All member of the team need to go through all the discipline except for the Rock Climbing. They are few checkpoint, time was taken that's mean all the 4 members of the team must arrive at the checkpoint together before the time taken.

As early as 7.3oam and a lorry and a van take all the participant to the upstream of the river at Selangor State Park. From there, the race started with river crossing until arrive at the North of Batu Dam. During the race, X-CJ having a close competition with "NP X-Venture" team from Singapore which this team was leading.

After arriving at the North of Batu Dam, X-CJ Team given 2 Kayak for them to cross the dam. Efan & Hilmy in the first Kayak and Zaim and Ayu go for the second Kayak. It was their first time using inflatable kayak but then they manage to cross the the dam.

Then, they have to go through for the 3rd dicipline whic is road running until Batu Caves. At this time X-CJ team having a close competition with "CareBears" team. Their 4th Dicipline started from Batu Caves forest which is caving and jungle trekking. And for the last dicipline, Efan and Zaim represent X-CJ team for the rock climbing. They both are in 2nd place during this dicipline.

At the end of the race, X-CJ team manage to get 3rd place!!! CONGRATULATION!!!

Club Registration Week 2010/2011

New Academic Year!!!

As usual, every year MMU Watersports Club are not excluding in Club Registration Week 2010/2011. We enrolling new members and guess what?? All MMU Students are welcome to join out club and its FREE! No registration fees!

1 Malaysia International Dragon Boat Festival (1MIDBF) Putrajaya 2010

MMU Watersports Club sent MMU Putra Dragon Boat Team which consist of 32 student to represent Multimedia University Cyberjaya in this competition. It was held on 18th June 2010at Putrajaya Watersports Complex, Presinct 6, Putrajaya. This competition was organize by Mega Event Sdn Bhd in cooperation with Ministry of Youth & Sports and Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.

MMU Putra Dragon Boat team participate in 4 categories which are:

1. Malaysia Open Crew

2. Malaysia Junior Open Under-23

3. Malaysia Mixed Crew

4. Malaysia Junior Mixed Under-23

All of the categories above is a 500 meter race and using a 12 crews boat. Many teams participating in this competition and heat was held and only "TOP 3 teams" chosen to the next round. MMU Putra Dragon Boat Team only manage to get 4th Place in all categories. All the crews of MMU Putra Team are the first timer and it was a good experience for them participating in this kind of competition for exposure.

Reef Lover 2 2009/2010

Reef Lover 2 kali ini telah berlangsung pada 20 hingga 23 Mei 2010 (4 hari 3 malam) yang lepas di Pulau Perhentian, Besut Terengganu. Seramai 85 orang peserta daripada MMU Melaka dan Cyberjaya telah mengikuti program ini.

Reef Lover merupakan satu program tahunan yang dianjurkan bersama tiga buah kelab dari Universiti Multimedia iaitu Youth Development Club Melaka, University Peer Group Cyberjaya dan Watersport Club Cyberjaya. Program ini dianjurkan dengan kerjasama Bahagian Hal Ehwal Pelajar Universiti Multimedia (STAD), Jabatan Laut Malaysia dan JKKK Kg. Pulau Perhentian. Program yang berlangsung selama 4 hari ini telah mendapat tajaan daripada Seahorse Divecenter Pulau Perhentian.

Objektif program ini adalah untuk menanamkan minat cintai alam sekitar kepada para mahasiswa Multimedia Universiti. Ia juga membolehkan ilmu yang dipelajari di kampus dapat dikongsi kepada para penduduk kampung. Selain itu, ia dapat mengeratkan silaturahim antara para mahasiswa dengan Penduduk Kampung serta agensi-agensi yang terlibat.

Pelbagai aktiviti telah dijalankan selama 4 hari program ini berlangsung. Antaranya ialah LDK bersama pelajar sekolah, futsal, pertandingan mewarna dan sukan rakyat. Gotong royong juga telah dijalankan untuk membersihkan di sekitar pantai. Manakala, para penyelam membuat kerja pembersihan di bawah laut dilakukan di Jeti Taman Laut, Teluk KK dan juga Batu Nisan.Aktiviti pembersihan bawah laut ini dipantau oleh pihak Jabatan Laut dan juga Seahorse Dive Centre. Hasilnya, terdapat banyak sampah dan COT (tapak sulaiman yang memusnahkan batu karang) yang telah di kutip dan dilupuskan.

Pada hari ketiga program ini berlangsung, kesemua peserta memulakan perjalanan ke Pulau Rawa dan aktiviti snorkeling dan bola sepak pantai telah dijalankan. Sejajar dengan objektif program, pembersihan di sekitar pantai juga telah dijalankan oleh kesemua peserta program.Pada sebelah malamnya, aktiviti bersama Jabatan Taman Laut bagi melengkapkan para peserta dengan info-info terkini mengenai alam sekitar. Acara penutup program dijalankan di Pusat Taman Laut ini telah disempurnakan oleh Encik Fazli selaku wakil dari STAD Universiti Multimedia.
