Eco-X Series 2010 was held on 4th July 2010 at Batu Dam, Batu Caves and Selangor State Park. This event was organize by Nomad Adventure Sdn Bhd in cooperation with Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.
MMU Watersports Club manage to sent 1 Team consist of 4 student consist of 3 Mens and 1 Woman. They call their team as "X-CJ". They are:
1. Mohammad Hilmy Hasan (Emy Captain)
2. Khairul Zaim Ismail (Zaim)
3. Ahmad Estaffan Ammir (Efan)
4. Nur Shahidayu Shariff (Ayu)
Eco-X challenge is an extreme sports for university level. They are 18 teams registered to join this competition. They are 5 discipline that all the team need to go through which are:
1. River crossing - 4km
2. Kayaking at Empangan Batu - 1.5km
3. Road Running - 3.5km
4. Caving & Junggle trekking - 3km
5. Rock Climbing (2 members of the team only needed)
All member of the team need to go through all the discipline except for the Rock Climbing. They are few checkpoint, time was taken that's mean all the 4 members of the team must arrive at the checkpoint together before the time taken.
As early as 7.3oam and a lorry and a van take all the participant to the upstream of the river at Selangor State Park. From there, the race started with river crossing until arrive at the North of Batu Dam. During the race, X-CJ having a close competition with "NP X-Venture" team from Singapore which this team was leading.
After arriving at the North of Batu Dam, X-CJ Team given 2 Kayak for them to cross the dam. Efan & Hilmy in the first Kayak and Zaim and Ayu go for the second Kayak. It was their first time using inflatable kayak but then they manage to cross the the dam.
Then, they have to go through for the 3rd dicipline whic is road running until Batu Caves. At this time X-CJ team having a close competition with "CareBears" team. Their 4th Dicipline started from Batu Caves forest which is caving and jungle trekking. And for the last dicipline, Efan and Zaim represent X-CJ team for the rock climbing. They both are in 2nd place during this dicipline.
At the end of the race, X-CJ team manage to get 3rd place!!! CONGRATULATION!!!
