Description on WWR activities at Slim River:

  • Distance for Slim River is approximately 6 kilometers with rapids from Grade 1 to Grade 3.
  • Slim River rapids are Cascading versions and usually end in a shallow pool.
  • The river is rocky with numerous narrow channels and tight turns thus we termed the run as 'Creeking Run'.
  • With a Gradient of about 1:6, the waterflow is about 5 ft/second an average water level and is considered to cold to Malaysian Standard.
  • Water can be clear but turn sllightly murky if it rains.
  • Riverine flora is superb with ferns, orchids, mosses, etc.... as we are in the Ulu Slim Forest Reserve.
  • As we approaching Kampung Bersih for 'Take Out' or end of the rafting journey, participants will come across Orang Asli kids playing in the river.
  • These orang asli are from the Temiar and the Semai tribe.

FITNESS, HEALTH & EXPERIENCE:

While good health and a positive mental attitude are essential, you do not need to have prior experience. Swimming ability is recommended but not essential, many non-swimmers have done with this activity each year. Many rafters cannot swim but you should be comfortable in water. On all trips, Coast Guard-approved lifejackets are provided and must be worn. In general you should be comfortable in water and all rafters should be able to follow instructions.

A POSITIVE, FRIENDLY ATTITUDE & GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR!!

SAFETY:

Safety briefing will be conducted on land before the participants enter the water and then further instruction is conducted in the water before we set off for the adventure trip. All our guides carry throw bags(rescue rope) and wear PFDs (life jacket) which are designed for swift water rescue in order to carry two persons should the need arise.

Do invite your friends to join and feel the sheer excitement along the churning mass of white foam or the thrill of being tossed in a raging rapid!!

Warm Regards
